Monday Assembly

Today’s attendance winner was Miss Stack’s class with 98.7%.

Mr Wood asked for volunteers to help act out a story about camels and maths. There was a wise old man, 3 sons and an older man. The older man died and left his 11 camels with his three sons. He said that the oldest son should get half the camels, the middle-aged son would get a quarter of the camels and that the youngest son should get one sixth of the camels.

So they did that and the oldest son got 5 and a half camels, the middle-aged 2 and three quarter camels and the youngest 1 and one fifth camels. The plan didn’t work so they put the camels back together and went to see the wise old man. The old man gave them a camel. They tried it again and the oldest son got 6 whole camels, the middle-aged son got 3 whole camels and the youngest son got 2 whole camels. There was 1 camel left over so they gave it back to the wise old man. Today’s moral was treat people how you would like to be treated.
