Making WW2 evacuee sandwiches

On Wednesday afternoon last week, the year 6 children made evacuee-like sandwiches. The ingredients to choose from were: spam, egg, carrots, coleslaw, mayonnaise, sugar and jam. We also found out that evacuees had butter and sugar sandwiches. The process of making sandwiches were going to a butter station and then going to a filling station and finally a wrapping station, run by Miss Harris. Once we had wrapped our sandwiches, we took them into class, finished the lesson and ate our combination sandwiches. They were really delicious and we all enjoyed them!
